Rowley Parish Council Welcome Peter Hayton to the Council

24th & 25th June 2023

King Charles III's Coronation - London Borough of Richmond upon Thames


The Coronation Service will take place on the morning of Saturday, 6th May 2023 at Westminster Abbey. The Coronation is a solemn religious service, as well as an occasion for celebration and pageantry.

Their Majesties The King and The Queen Consort will arrive at Westminster Abbey in procession from Buckingham Palace, known as ‘The King’s Procession’.

After the Service, Their Majesties will return to Buckingham Palace in a larger ceremonial procession, known as ‘The Coronation Procession’. Their Majesties will be joined in this procession by other Members of the Royal Family.

At Buckingham Palace, The King and The Queen Consort, accompanied by Members of the Royal Family, will appear on the balcony to conclude the day’s ceremonial events.

The Christmas Light Switch on was held on  Friday 9th December 2022, 6.30 pm.

Mr Byass attended with the Steam Organ, and Voices of Little Weighton were also in attendance with some Festive Songs on the Green.

Mulled Wine & Mince Pies were served.  All Children who attended received a Selection Box from Father Christmas.


We hope you enjoyed the evening, despite the temperatures being so cold.

The Club meets on the third Friday of the month and is open to all. Admission to talks in the Village Hall is £2.00 and includes tea and biscuits. There is now a Facebook page, so you can check on events.

Dates for your Diary

Sunday 15th May on the Village Green: Annual Plant Sale, 12 noon – 4:00 pm.

If you have any plants to donate, please bring them to the green between 10:00 am and 12 noon.

We have lots of home-grown plants which we know will do well In our conditions and will save on travel miles, all for very cheap prices. All proceeds go towards keeping the Gardeners’ Club running for another year.

Friday 20th May 5:45pm Walking around Beverley

We will meet in the Village Hall Car park: we have arranged a “walking with unnoticed and unusual Trees” with John Killingbeck around the streets of Beverley. £4.00.

Friday 24th June 9:00am Coach Trip

We will be travelling either to Scampston House and Gardens, plus possibly Weeks Wicked Plants next door or Harlow Carr Gardens in Harrogate. Look out for posters around the village or Facebook.

Friday 15th July 6:00pm arranged trip.

Setting off from Little Weighton Village Hall car park: we have arranged a visit to Southwood Hall in Cottingham.

Sunday 21st August 10:00am – 12 noon Potato Growing Challenge

We are holding a local meet up in Little Weighton Village Hall car park to carry out the “Potato Growing Challenge.”

Buy a seed potato and a growing bag from Gardeners’ Club meetings or from Andrew Campbell at 41 Potterdale Drive (844461).

Use your own compost and feeding regime to see if you can grow the greatest weight of potatoes. Cut off the top growth and bring the whole bag to the car park for weighing. Good Luck!!!

Friday 16th September 2:00pm arranged trip

Setting off from Little Weighton Village Hall car park: we have arranged a visit to Tythe Farmhouse Gardens in Wansford near Driffield. £5 including tea and cakes.
