155/23 – LITTLE WEIGHTON PLAYING FIELDS
Issues raised regarding the Playing Fields & agree actions:
- The Cableway (Zipwire) cable has now been removed, the timber posts are also rotten and require removal.
- Equipment update – Quotations for replacement springer were presented and discussed.
RESOLVED – Purchase & Installation of Frog Springer from Streetscape, £1855.
- Small Container appearance – Quotations received to remove from site. Also enquired if any business locally would be interested?
- Bowls Club – request for Storeroom Key to access Main Fuse Box – GRANTED
- Small gate to Playing Field Entrance – RESOLVED – Works completed, and quiet to close.

- Newsletter – November 2023 edition printed and ready for distribution.
- Website – Analytics were presented to Council. Requested to be presented twice yearly.
- Christmas Light Switch on –Friday 1st December 2023. 6.30pm – Volunteers required to help for the marquee erection. Notice placed in Weighton Beacon. Temporary Event License purchased.

- Replacement Noticeboard (White Gap Road) quotation presented to Council.

- Finance Meeting – The Chairman asked that the Village Hall be booked for Finance/Precept Meeting on the 15th November 2023.
Councillor Raymond expressed his disappointment that this meeting could not be held on Microsoft Teams.
161/23 WARD COUNCILLORS REPORT
Councillor Meredith reported on the public bus transport provision in the parish. Councillor Meredith asked councillors to complete the survey.
MS3 Connections – Poles have been suspended – None in our Parish at present.
Flooding – Bluestone was affected, cleared after 24 hours,
Councillor Meredith reported on Funding – Smile foundation are holding a drop in session 9th Nov 11-2pm to give advice on grants available.
Councillor Gill reported on topics for Scrutiny highlighting that the Chalk Path on Rowley Road would be an ideal topic. Costs will have increased since the last cost provided by ERYC.
162/23 HIGHWAYS
- Smiling Sid’s (Speed Indicator Devices) – The Clerk met with ERYC Safety Officer Thursday 5th October 2023. Only one possible location on Old Village Road, but not ideal for Smiling Sid’s to captivate the true speed of motorist. Councillors agreed not to pursue the SIDS.
- Speed Bumps on Green Lane – ERYC have been sent photographs of the repairs required on the playing field drive. The surveyor will look at the cost of a remedial repair verses straight forward replacement cost and advise further.
- Councillor Elvidge reported that the Chevron sign at the top of Bentley has detached from its post. Clerk to report
Grip holes –ERYC contractor have dug between Bentley and Dunflat Lane are back to the hedge.- Damaged Fence & Hedge to the rear – Clerk to report.
163/23 GROUNDS MAINTENANCE
Trees between The Butts & Station View – Quotation requested, once received will
be presented to the Finance Meeting to be held 15th November 2023.
