Councillor Simon Turner presented a Portrait of His Majesty King Charles III to Sylvia Spinks, Chair of Little Weighton Village Hall.

101/24   DECLARATION OF INTEREST   –

Councillor J.Tunnicliffe declared a pecuniary Interest in Agenda Item 8.1 (RWE) renewables, & 15b (Bench Installation).

102/24   MINUTES

RESOLVED:   Minutes of the meeting held 12th June 2024 were then approved as a true & correct record.

103/24  LOCAL POLICING TEAM

Hessle, South Hunsley & Dale Ward Newsletter, Beverley Town & Beverley Rural – reports not received prior to Meeting.

104/24 – LITTLE WEIGHTON PLAYING FIELDS

Under 9’s (South Cave) and Under 13’s will be using the Playing Field Pitches during the summer evenings. Their manager is a Little Weighton resident.

It was agreed to gain quotations for cleaning the fascia boards on the Changing Rooms. 2 x Window Cleaners are to be approached.

The Small Container has now been removed.

105/24 PLANNING  

24/01633/TPO – Rowey Road 1992-(ref 277) Fell 6 No Ash Trees due to suffering from severe Ash Dieback and become hazardous from falling branches – Location:  7 Station View, Little Weighton. https://newplanningaccess.eastriding.gov.uk/newplanningaccess

RESOLVED That the application is recommended for approval. Agree with Tree Officers recommendation to replace removed trees.

  • RWE Liaison meeting 10th July 2024 – Councillor A Woodall attending.

Consultation on proposed application for development consent Section 42 of the Planning Act 2008   – NOTED

It was agreed to remove Stoneledge and Ashcourt from future agendas unless further issues arise.

111/24 HIGHWAYS

  1. To receive update on Chalk Path (commenced 3.6.24). Path is now complete. Councillors asked if a further compacting could be carried out. It was reported that some horse riders have also used the trod. Advice to be sought from Highways Officers.
  2. To receive update from ERYC on Eroded Pavement (Rowley Road) – ERYC Highways Officer advised that they are looking at  holding a meeting with the Asset Group Manager and have impressed on them the need to fund the repairs.
  3. Response following a request for Parking Bays outside Village Shop – ERYC advised that a traffic regulation order would be needed to make the bays enforceable, and the cost is £5000.00 It would not be cost effective for the council to implement this. The Council will not consider this request any further.

112/24 GROUNDS MAINTENANCE

  1. Ash Die back (Lilac Grove Trees) Further guidance will be sought.

Councillor Tunnicliffe left the meeting.

  • Benches ordered from Solway Recycling – One quotation received; it was agreed to ask two further businesses to quote.

                One Bench to replace bench outside of the chapel.

                It was suggested that a bench is situation on The Butts green. – Councillor    

                Hayton will send suggested location for Council to view.

Councillor Tunnicliffe rejoined the meeting.

  • Playing Fields Boundary Fence/residents Hedge update – RESOLVED – It was agreed that the clerk gains two quotations for comparison.
  • Grounds Maintenance required at Junction Rowley Road/Riplingham Road reported and at Westoby Lane/White Gap Road Crossroads. -The clerk will advise ERYC Grounds Maintenance team.

  • Increase the profile of the Parish.
