LITTLE WEIGHTON

The Chair welcomed David Siddle, East Riding Rural Housing Enabler who presented the results of the recent housing survey carried out in Little Weighton and Skidby Parishes. 57 Responses in total, resulting in 75% Skidby response as opposed to 25% from Rowley Parish. This identified a need for between 20 and 24 units across the two parishes however sites would have to be identified within the two parishes and at present there are not any suitable. David will attend a future meeting of the Council.

88/24 – LITTLE WEIGHTON PLAYING FIELDS

Cradle Swings – Height adjusted on one cradle.

Adult Exercise equipment – Discussion took place.RESOLVED In view of Health & Safety the items were agreed to be removed.

Grass cutting/Strimming on the playing fields to be discussed with ERYC Grounds team.

  2. External Audit – to consider the 2023-24 AGAR for submission to the External Auditor – RESOLVED – Approved
  3. Section 1: Annual Governance Statement – to consider the questions and respond accordingly. RESOLVED – Approved
  4. Section 2: Accounting Statements – to consider and agree the account statement figures. RESOLVED – Approved
  5. Electors’ Rights – to agree the dates for the Notice of Public Rights – RESOLVED dates approved.

95/24  WARD COUNCILLORS REPORT

Councillor R Meredith reported on the recent Biowise Meeting In respect of the constant smell from the site at Willerby. Items discussed at the ERYC Streetscene walkabout that were not part of their remit were reported.

96/24  GROUNDS MAINTENANCE

Bench outside of the old chapel is rotten and needs to be removed. RESOLVED – To purchase two recyclable benches with Parish Council name routered on the back. The Pavers will need to be reset and Bench bolted to pavers. Quotations sought for works to be carried out.

Resident reported Trees at Lilac Grove with Ash Dieback.  

The ERYC Insurance and the Parish Councils Insurance to be contacted in respect of the hedge issues (West Garth/Bowling Green).

97/24 HIGHWAYS

Rowley Road Chalk Path   –  works to the path have now taken place. Mixed reviews received so far. The path looks unfinished and does not have tidy edges, or consistent rolling across the length of path replaced.

It was agreed to meet with ERYC Highways Officers on site to discuss further.

Following the streetscene walkabout, loose posts outside the Village Hall were identified and reported. This is a health and safety concern.

Rowley Road (Pavement erosion) No further update from ERYC regarding the land ownership. It was reported however, that the Railway Board have replaced some fencing to the side of the bridge.
